Engagement Models

Home / Engagement Models

At Global Ledger Works, we recognize that outsourcing requirements vary by organization, process maturity, and business objectives. Our engagement models are designed to align with your operating style, delivery expectations, and level of involvement.

As part of the engagement evaluation, we work with clients to understand:

  • Why you are outsourcing (objectives and outcomes)
  • What functions or processes are best suited for outsourcing

This allows us to recommend and structure the most appropriate delivery model for your needs.

Insourcing / Dedicated Team Model

Under this model, a dedicated offshore team is set up exclusively for your organization. Global Ledger Works manages infrastructure, IT, recruitment, and HR, while the client retains direct oversight of work allocation and priorities.

Best suited for:

  • Process-driven and recurring activities such as bookkeeping, transaction processing, and back-office support
  • Clients who prefer direct control over team management and workflows

Key characteristics:

  • Dedicated resources aligned to your processes
  • Reduced recruitment and infrastructure effort
  • Requires client involvement in training, supervision, and productivity management
Managed Services Model (Insourcing with Managerial Support)

This model provides a more hands-off approach, where Global Ledger Works assumes responsibility for training, quality oversight, productivity, and day-to-day management, in addition to infrastructure and staffing.

Best suited for:

  • Accounting, reporting, and finance functions requiring trained professionals
  • Ongoing work involving GAAP-based accounting, management reporting, and financial close support

Key characteristics:

  • Faster ramp-up and productivity
  • Built-in managerial and technical oversight
  • Reduced client involvement in daily supervision
  • Continuous monitoring of quality and performance
Project-Based / Job-by-Job Engagement

This model is designed for defined-scope assignments with clear deliverables and timelines. Engagements are structured around agreed outputs, review mechanisms, and quality standards.

Common use cases:

  • Start-ups or growing businesses needing flexible support
  • Pilot engagements to evaluate fit and delivery quality
  • Output-based assignments with defined accuracy and turnaround expectations

Key characteristics:

  • Clearly scoped deliverables and timelines
  • Maker-checker review approach
  • Dedicated resources assigned for consistency and efficiency
  • Suitable as a test phase before long-term engagement
Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) Model

The BOT model involves Global Ledger Works setting up and operating a dedicated back-office function on your behalf, with a structured plan to transition ownership to the client over time.

Best suited for:

  • Organizations looking to establish offshore operations
  • Clients unfamiliar with local regulations, hiring practices, or operational setup in India

Key characteristics:

  • Structured setup, operational management, and transition
  • Reduced execution and compliance risk during initial stages
  • Clear timelines and governance throughout the lifecycle
